One week later...

We had a nice Thanksgiving this year. It was...different. We didn't go to Dallas to be with my family, we didn't even hook up with my mom and step dad and sibs. We just chilled at home, cooked, and ATE. Which is what's really important LOL

I'm a little low on time (what else is new?) so this will mostly be a post in pics :)

So there you have it! We ate dinner about 2 (Grandma would be proud). Waddled to the couch and watched the Cowboys. I napped until *ahem* about 6. (tee hee, I was on vacation) Then me and the kiddos snuggled up and watched The Christmas Story. What a great movie. What an awesome family. What a beautiful day.

They say it's your birthday....

Today we celebrated Jade's 8th b-day.
It was pretty low key; we had actually canceled the party (and Luke's) last weekend b/c of an ill-timed stomach virus which took FOREVER for Luke to get over. But he's been feeling much better and so we had some friends and family over for cake and ice cream.

Last week we had cake for Luke, but he was really feeling puny.




Doesn't he look like he's enjoying himself? LOL

Luckily I had fun baking :D



It was just immediate family, since we had all been exposed to the virus anyway haha. Poor little guy :( Thank goodness he got over it. Unfortunately it took him so long to get better we had already canceled Jade's party. (Ah, th joy of children with birthday's 5 days apart.)

Well, Jade's b-day was the 16th and Luke really started felling better that day. Unfortunatley since it was so late we couldn't invite many friends, but a few got to come.

Since it was last minute H and I ended up running to Walmart the morning of and just grabbing whatever we thought she would like.




It worked. She's really into those Littlest Pets, so we kinda had a sure bet :). She was very happy.

Of course the best present we got her could not be found in a Walmart.




It was in the parking lot! LOL As we were leaving a lady had a litter of lab puppies for free. I pulled over even as Howard was saying "Absolutely not!!" LOL
I did some quick talking, but Howard's such a dog lover, I didn't have to plead for long. Soon enough we were headed home with a roly-poly little puppy :D

Jade was beyond ecstatic! It was a complete surprise to everyone. We didn't tell anyone beforehand, and after all the presents were opened I pretended like Howard had forgotten one in the bedroom. We pulled it off perfectly :D We covered Jade's eyes and he brought the puppy out. The look on Mom and Jana's face was priceless!

At first Luke wasn't too keen but he eventually warmed up to him as well.



That's him saying 'woof' (Luke-speak for dog)After an afternoon of debating, we named him Artoo (as in Artoo Deetoo LOL) Yes, Howard's plan to name the whole world according to Star Wars is nearly complete.

Overall a very happy birthday :D

Oy Vey!!

Can it really have been this long since I blogged?! Oh my goodness...Well, like they say the days are long, but the years are short. Time has been flying by around here. Many exciting things going on. School is going well. It's very stressful though. I'm having a hard time balancing everything. I just feel like I can't get caught up :S
I'm starting a book club at school :D I'm so excited! I think it's going to be so fun.
Luke's birthday is the 11th and we're having a Shrek party (Yay capitalism!). It'll be cute...I'm deciding the menu now.
Jade's is the 16th and we're having her party on the 18th, a tea party. I think it will be lots of fun. She's very excited.
My gorgeous sister and adorable nephew (and so-so brother in law LOL j/k) are coming down in a week for a few days! I'm so happy! We haven't met the little fellow yet, so it will be very exciting.
I also have a baby shower in a week for my beautiful best friend, which I'm looking forward too...
Wow. I think we'll be spending lots of money in the next month haha
In other news I've lost another three pounds :D We're trying not to eat out anymore. In only two weeks, we have saved at least 60 dollars, and I feel much better. You know how salty restaurant food is? Well, my rings are falling off! I'm losing all this funky water weight, now that my system is getting rid of all that sodium. So I've been brown bagging it, and cooking every night. It's not too bad :)
Well, I am really going to try to blog more! I have so many ideas about what I want to write about, so I will just carve out a little time at night and git er done. ;)
